Engineering and R&D
The cheapest change is the one made before steel is cut. Our engineers work with your team from the first sketch, across mechanical, electrical and unmanned vehicle programs.

What we do
Design parts that mold well, machine well and hold up in the field.
We bring tooling and production knowledge into the design stage, so the part you approve is a part we can build.
- Product and industrial design in synthetic and non-synthetic materials
- Design for manufacturability (DFM) and mold design review
- CAD simulation and fill and volume analysis before a tool is built
- Material selection for strength, weight and environment
- Fixtures, jigs and test rigs for development and qualification

Electrical engineering
Electronics designed alongside the hardware.
Our engineers work on the electrical system and the mechanical parts together, so wiring, connectors and enclosures fit the first time.
- Electrical system design and integration
- Wiring harnesses and cable assemblies
- PCB integration and enclosure design
- Power distribution and battery integration
- Electrical testing and validation

Drones
Drone prototyping, assembly and production.
We take unmanned aircraft from first prototype to production: airframe parts molded and machined in house, electronics integrated, and complete aircraft assembled and tested on one floor.
- Rapid drone prototyping
- Molded and machined airframe components
- Electronics and payload integration
- Assembly and functional testing
- Low-rate and full production assembly
FAQ
Common questions
When should we bring Bridge North into a project?
As early as possible. Changes cost least before a tool is built, so reviewing wall thickness, draft, gating and material at the concept stage avoids expensive tool changes later.
What files do you need to start?
A 3D model (STEP or IGES preferred) and any 2D drawings with tolerances. A sketch or a physical sample is enough to start an engineering conversation.
What is design for manufacturability (DFM)?
DFM is a review of a part’s geometry, tolerances and material so it can be molded or machined reliably and at a sensible cost. It covers things like uniform wall thickness, draft angles, undercuts and gate location.
Can you build drones to our design?
Yes. We prototype, assemble and produce aircraft to customer designs, and help refine the design for manufacturing along the way.
Do you make the airframe parts too?
Yes. Molded and machined components come from our own tooling and CNC equipment, so airframe changes do not wait on outside suppliers.
What volumes do you support?
From single prototypes through low-rate initial production and production runs.
